VoIP / ITSP round-up
This week's blogpost is a bit of a cheat, as I'm linking out to a recording Simwood made of the talk I gave at their annual conference a couple of weeks ago.
I gave my usual update on legal issues for VoIP and Internet telephony providers, and I focussed this year on three topics:
- the recent changes to Ofcom's General Conditions of Entitlement and, in particular, the rules on "end of contract" notifications and "annual best tariff" information
- the CLOUD Act and requests for assistance from law enforcement in the USA
- the likely impact of Brexit, and some comments on Ofcom's proposed "emergency video relay" obligation
I also gave a quick overview of key legal issues relating to coronavirus, in response to a question from the floor.
Thanks to Simwood for having me there once again; it's always a fun event.
If you want a PDF copy of the slides (warning: probably not much use unless you've watched the talk, as they're more a backdrop to me talking than a hand-out), please do just get in touch.
